What it is
Amerex B441 is a 10 lb ABC dry chemical fire extinguisher rated 4A:80B:C for ordinary combustibles, flammable liquids and gases, and live electrical equipment. Discharge runs 22 seconds with an initial range of 15 to 21 ft at 195 PSIG. The agent is a specially fluidized and siliconized mono ammonium phosphate that melts and coats the burning surface, insulating Class A fuel and breaking the chain reaction on Class B fires. The cylinder is drawn-steel with a chrome-plated brass valve body, stainless steel handle and lever. A wall bracket ships with the extinguisher. The operating temperature range is −65°F to 120°F.
Ten pounds is the sweet spot for many commercial spaces: enough agent for a developing fire, still manageable for a single operator. The Amerex B441 delivers that in a 4A:80B:C package. Its dry chemical melts at approximately 350F to chemically insulate Class A fuels and coat the surface to which it is applied; on Class B fires it smothers the flame and breaks the chain reaction, and it will not conduct electricity back to the operator. Built to last, the B441 uses all-metal valve construction with a heavy duty chrome plated brass valve body, a stainless steel handle and lever, and a durable high gloss polyester powder paint finish. Bilingual labels are printed on every unit.
