Match the tub to the extinguisher. The 9″ × 18″ × 5-1/2″ tub takes JL Cosmic 2.5 lb to 6 lb, Galaxy 2.5 lb to 5.5 lb and Mercury 2.5 lb to 5 lb; larger Ambassador tubs run up to 20″ × 27″ × 7-3/4″ for two extinguishers. Every product page lists what fits.
Objects mounted between 27″ and 80″ above the floor may project no more than 4″ into a circulation path. Cabinets that comply carry the ADA 4″ mark on this page.
When the cabinet is recessed into a fire-rated wall. Fire-FX2 cabinets are tested to ASTM E814 and UL 1479 and are available for ratings up to 2 hours.
