What it is
Amerex B443 is a 6 lb ABC dry chemical fire extinguisher rated 3A:40B:C for ordinary combustibles, flammable liquids and gases, and live electrical equipment. Discharge runs 14.5 seconds with an initial range of 15 to 21 ft at 195 PSIG. The agent is a specially fluidized and siliconized mono ammonium phosphate that melts and coats the burning surface, insulating Class A fuel and breaking the chain reaction on Class B fires. The cylinder is drawn-steel with an anodized aluminum valve body, anodized aluminum handle and lever. A wall bracket ships with the extinguisher. The operating temperature range is −65°F to 120°F.
An extra pound of agent over the familiar 5 lb size gives the Amerex B443 added staying power without much added bulk. This 6 lb ABC extinguisher carries a UL rating of 3A:40B:C and features a light- to medium-duty anodized aluminum valve body with anodized aluminum handle and lever. Its dry chemical chemically insulates Class A fires by melting at approximately 350°F and coating the surface, and it smothers Class B fires by breaking the chain reaction.
