What it is
JL Industries Grenadier-P (FP02C) is a 2-1/2 gal. portable fire extinguisher charged with ordinary water expelled by compressed air and UL rated 2A for Class A fires. It stands 24-1/2" tall and 9" wide over the hose and handle, on a 7" diameter cylinder, and ships at 8.3 lb. The cylinder is butt-welded 304-L stainless steel with an all-metal valve, with a visual pressure gauge and pull pin. The operating temperature range is 40°F (4°C) to 120°F (49°C). A J-hook wall bracket ships with it as standard, and the Mark MB810C bracket is available separately. It must never be used on live electrical equipment or on cooking media. It ships empty and must be charged and pressurized before being placed in service.
The JL Industries FP02C is the Grenadier-P, a 2-1/2 gal. portable fire extinguisher in JL's Grenadier series, charged with ordinary water expelled by compressed air and UL rated 2A for Class A fires. It is specified for Class A hazards in warehouses, storage and general commercial areas where recharging with water and air is wanted. Because the agent is ordinary water pressurized with regular air, recharging the extinguisher is simple and economical.

- Standards: Conforms to CAN/ULC-S507 - ANSI/UL 626 and CAN/ULC-S508 - ANSI/UL 711. Meets the current NFPA 10 requirements for portable fire extinguishers and is tested and listed by UL.
- US Coast Guard: Approved. The owner's manual notes that USCG approval is valid only when the extinguisher is fitted with the approved marine-type bracket named on its nameplate.
- In the box: the extinguisher with a J-hook wall bracket as standard; the Mark MB810C mounting bracket is available separately at extra charge.
- Charging: Ships empty (uncharged and unpressurized). It must be filled with the extinguishing agent and pressurized in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions before being placed in service.
- Application limits: Water extinguishers must never be used on fires involving live electrical equipment or on cooking media; water can flash to steam at cooking temperatures and cause serious burns.
JL's catalog lists this extinguisher as compatible with the following cabinet tub sizes:
- 12" x 27" x 7-3/4" tub (2000 series); the catalog notes Grenadier units must be mounted to the tub
- 16" x 32" x 7-3/4" tub (3000 series)
- 20" x 27" x 7-3/4" duo tub (4000 series, two extinguishers)
Sized to the cabinet tables in JL's fire protection catalog. JL's cabinet selection guide asks for at least 1" of clearance in height, width and depth over the extinguisher's own dimensions.
