What it is
JL Industries Orbit FPK10VB (FPK10VB) is a 10 lb portable fire extinguisher charged with specially fluidized and siliconized potassium bicarbonate dry chemical and UL rated 80B:C for Class B and C fires. It stands 23" tall and 9" wide, on a 3-1/2" deep vessel, and ships at 22 lb. The vessel is non-magnetic tempered aluminum with an aluminum valve, with a visual pressure gauge and pull pin. The operating temperature range is -40°F (-40°C) to 120°F (49°C). A button hook and washer ship with it for wall mounting. Purple K is not recommended for use on sensitive electronic equipment, and it is not a Class K extinguisher for cooking oils and grease.
The JL Industries FPK10VB is the Orbit FPK10VB, a 10 lb portable fire extinguisher in JL's Orbit series, charged with specially fluidized and siliconized potassium bicarbonate dry chemical and UL rated 80B:C for Class B and C fires. It is specified for garages, service bays, boats, vehicles and fuel storage and transfer areas, and public areas such as offices, classrooms and churches. Purple K is particularly effective on Class B flammable liquids and pressurized gases and is electrically non-conductive. JL describes it as the preferred fire fighting agent of the oil, gas, chemical and utilities industries, and states the Orbit vessel is as much as 40 percent slimmer than a traditional 10 lb model and is compliant with ADA protruding object regulations and local building codes.
