What it is
JL Industries Cosmic 2-1/2E (FE02C) is a 2-1/2 lb portable fire extinguisher charged with specially fluidized and siliconized mono ammonium phosphate powder and UL rated 1A-10B:C for Class A, B and C fires. It stands 15-1/2" tall and 5-3/4" wide over the hose and handle, on a 3-3/8" diameter cylinder, and ships at 5.5 lb. The cylinder is heavy-duty steel with an aluminum valve, with a visual pressure gauge and pull pin. The operating temperature range is -65°F (-53°C) to 120°F (49°C). A Mark MB817C bracket ships with it as standard. JL does not recommend ABC dry chemical for use on sensitive electronic equipment.
The JL Industries FE02C is the Cosmic 2-1/2E, a 2-1/2 lb portable fire extinguisher in JL's Cosmic series, charged with specially fluidized and siliconized mono ammonium phosphate powder and UL rated 1A-10B:C for Class A, B and C fires. It is specified for offices, classrooms, churches, parking garages and retail spaces. The powder smothers and breaks the chain reaction on Class B fires, fuses and insulates Class A fires, and is a non-conductor of electricity. It is non-toxic.

- US Coast Guard: Approved. The owner's manual notes that USCG approval is valid only when the extinguisher is fitted with the approved marine-type bracket named on its nameplate.
- In the box: the extinguisher and a Mark MB817C mounting bracket, supplied as standard.

Sized to the cabinet tables in JL's fire protection catalog. JL's cabinet selection guide asks for at least 1" of clearance in height, width and depth over the extinguisher's own dimensions.
