What it is
JL Industries Sentinel 20 (FS20C) is a 20 lb portable fire extinguisher charged with liquid carbon dioxide under pressure and UL rated 10B:C for Class B and C fires. It stands 26-7/8" tall and 13" wide over the hose and handle, on an8" diameter cylinder, and ships at 49 lb. The cylinder is lightweight high-pressure aluminum with a straight thread brass valve, with a visual pressure gauge and pull pin. The operating temperature range is -22°F (-30°C) to 120°F (49°C). A J-hook wall bracket ships with it as standard, and the Mark MB811C bracket is available separately. Carbon dioxide displaces oxygen, so JL says care should be exercised in confined areas.
The JL Industries FS20C is the Sentinel 20, a 20 lb portable fire extinguisher in JL's Sentinel series, charged with liquid carbon dioxide under pressure and UL rated 10B:C for Class B and C fires. It is specified for offices, classrooms, retail spaces and research facilities where an electrically non-conductive clean agent is wanted. The discharge changes into a gas and appears as a cloud of white snow, directed at the fire through a funnel-shaped horn. It is electrically non-conductive and leaves no residue.

- US Coast Guard: Approved. The owner's manual notes that USCG approval is valid only when the extinguisher is fitted with the approved marine-type bracket named on its nameplate.
- In the box: the extinguisher with a J-hook wall bracket as standard; the Mark MB811C mounting bracket is available separately at extra charge.
- Charging: Ships factory charged.
- Application limits: Carbon dioxide discharges as a gas with small particles of snow at extremely low temperatures and will displace oxygen, so care should be exercised in confined areas.
JL's catalog cabinet tables do not list a cabinet tub size for this model. JL's cabinet selection guide asks for at least 1" of clearance in height, width and depth over the extinguisher's own dimensions.
