| Mark | If the wall is | Specify | Ambassador models | Note |

| B | 5/8″ drywall or 3/4″ plaster finished to the door | Trimless recessed flange | Trim 4: 8114, 1014, 2014 | No visible trim on the wall face |
| C | Too shallow for the full tub | Semi-recessed, square or rolled edge | Trim 6, 7, 2 or 8: 8116, 8117, 1012, 8118 | The 4-1/2″ rolled edge (trim 8) projects past the ADA 4″ limit |
| D | Block or concrete, no cutout possible | Surface mount, square edge | Trim 3: 8113, 1013, 2013 | Check the ADA path of travel |
| E | A fire-rated partition | Fire-FX2 version of the same model | Add FX2: 8117FX2, 1017FX2 | Rated up to 2 hours |
Match the tub to the extinguisher. The 9″ × 18″ × 5-1/2″ tub takes JL Cosmic 2.5 lb to 6 lb, Galaxy 2.5 lb to 5.5 lb and Mercury 2.5 lb to 5 lb; larger Ambassador tubs run up to 20″ × 27″ × 7-3/4″ for two extinguishers. Every product page lists what fits.
Objects mounted between 27″ and 80″ above the floor may project no more than 4″ into a circulation path. Cabinets that comply carry the ADA 4″ mark on this page.
When the cabinet is recessed into a fire-rated wall. Fire-FX2 cabinets are tested to ASTM E814 and UL 1479 and are available for ratings up to 2 hours.
